The Story:
The story of Half Moon Festival began over 15 years ago, on the island of Koh Phangan, in the Kingdom of Thailand. At that time a young DJ from the island decided he would move his events away from the beach, where the Full Moon parties were taking place; and into the mysteries of the rain-forest. He found a beautiful area in the wild tropical forest and began growing his vision. His party paradise was a Tropical Wonderland that would come alive during every half moon night

Nowadays the Half Moon Festival is recognized for the quality of its production and organization. Thousands of party people, experience seekers and global travelers party every two weeks in the enchanted forest. All year-round, united as one under the electric sky.
The Event:
With 3 dance-floors, amazing decorations, shows & entertainers, bars, food stands, shops & UV bodypainting, Half Moon makes you feel like you are in a festival... in the tropical jungle, on an island in Thailand!
It is an out-of-this-world experience of fun, party, music, arts and energy. The line-up includes a mix of international Djs and live acts, as well as homegrown talents.
Each floor has its own unique visual theme and music style.The Main Floor is the Tribal Floor. The floor of powerful and punchy raw energy of the magic forest. Psy Trance & Progressive is a major influence behind this floor. So expect UV lights, fluo decorations, fire and other elements of madness.
The G Floor is the Funky Floor. The floor for hip-shaking hand-clapping House music lovers. This floor is younger and less agitated than his older brother, but what a soul! Expect live beats and electronic sounds combined in harmony. A lighter and more intimate experience, near the river, in the Bamboo forest.
The Cave Floor is the Urban Floor. The floor for more urban vibes, like Hip Hop, R&B, Trap, EDM. Expect urban underground-tunnel style, with smoke and indoor UV wall paintings. A concrete jungle in the jungle.
Doors open at 8pm and the event runs past sunrise. For those who hang-out till dawn the sunrise is always surreal. A moment like-no-other, that forges friendships and memories.

The festival is located in a lush tropical forest on the paradise island of Koh Phangan.

The Half Moon Festival is organized in the Forest, north of the Ban Tai village. At mid-distance between Thong Sala and Haad Rin, the 2 main arrival piers of Koh Phangan. On the southern coast of the Island.
