PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS is a last-man-standing shooter being developed with community feedback. Starting with nothing, players must fight to locate weapons and supplies in a battle to be the lone survivor. This realistic, high tension game is set on a massive 8x8 km island with a level of detail that showcases Unreal Engine 4's capabilities.

Why Early Access?
“Early Access is a great platform as it gives us the ability to get feedback from new players, as well as our existing community on new and existing content. PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS is being developed with full transparency to our players, and we will make adjustments and additions based directly on their comments. Feedback from two alphas and a closed beta test, along with responses from a broader group, will guide us in the creation and addition of new content and gameplay tuning.
One of the ways we'll use Early Access is to test Custom Games by giving certain players the ability to create their own versions of Battle Royale. This includes the option of setting the number of teammates, the type of weather, looting limitations and various other game options. Our initial goal is to test this feature among a smaller group of players and if all goes well, we'll gradually roll it out to everyone. We'll have more details on Custom Games once we begin implementing this feature.”
Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?
“We don't expect Early Access to last longer than six months.”
How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?
“The full version will incorporate modding tools that will allow players to customize and play the game the way they want. We'll deliver a complete Battle Royale experience based on the feedback that we receive during Early Access with a focus on optimizing gunplay, weapons and attachments, animations, vehicles, the loot-system and much more.
In addition, we plan to add even more content and new features that will be based on feedback from the community during Early Access. We are committed to full transparency with players and will provide frequent and regular updates to them.”
What is the current state of the Early Access version?
“The game is stable and we've implemented a lot of content and features based our community's feedback during the alpha and closed beta tests. For Early Access, we are going to focus on implementing the modding tools and readying a fully polished battle royale experience. We have weapons and attachments, animations and gunplay in the game, and will concentrate on tuning each. We will use the additional feedback to help us with the implementation of new features as well.”
Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?
“The game will remain to be at the current price even after Early Access.”
How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?
“Transparency and constant communication with the community is crucial. We will invite certain players to test our Custom Games feature before we roll it out to the broader group. We'll be posting dev diaries, updates and asking for feedback on Playbattlegrounds.com. PLAYERUNKNOWN, along with our community and development teams will engage the community to discuss play mechanics, new features and the overall experience to ensure they get the game that they want.”
